Departing from a Baroque high-relief of a Cherub, this has been defaced following the current aesthetic of sculptures that have been damaged during iconoclastic movements. The work was also informed by the aesthetic of censorship applied to photographs of children’s faces on many online platform to hide and protect their identity.
